What does the carbon reduction process look like?
At Positive Planet, we make carbon reduction practical and approachable. The process starts with a clear baseline by measuring your emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3. From there, we work with you to identify the biggest opportunities for impact, aligned with your business goals and resources. We’ll create a tailored reduction roadmap with short, medium, and long-term actions, backed by credible science and industry best practices.
You’ll have ongoing support from our team to help implement changes, engage stakeholders, and track progress. This could include improving energy efficiency, engaging suppliers, or switching to low-carbon alternatives. It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
How accurate is your carbon footprint data?
We take accuracy seriously. Our carbon footprint data is built using trusted emission factors, aligned with the GHG Protocol and other internationally recognised standards. We combine technology with expert review to ensure your data is as accurate and credible as possible.
That said, carbon footprinting often involves a mix of actual data and reasonable estimates, especially for scope 3 emissions. We’ll always be transparent about where data is exact and where assumptions are used, so you can report with confidence and improve data quality over time.
How long does the process typically take?
The full process usually takes around 15 to 20 weeks, but this can vary depending on the size and complexity of your business. Typically, we spend the first 6 weeks collecting and validating your data. After that, it takes about 5 to 6 weeks to carry out a detailed analysis of your carbon footprint. Finally, we spend another 4 to 8 weeks developing your report and reduction plan, ensuring everything is tailored to your goals and ready for stakeholder review.
We always aim to keep things moving at a pace that works for you. If you need to move faster or have specific deadlines, we’ll do everything we can to align with them.
